American violinist, renowned for intellectual and emotional maturity, named America's Best Young Classical Musician in 2001. Winner of many prizes for CDs on Sony and DG labels.
Hilary HahnFeb. 22, 2009
Born in Lexington, Virginia, Hilary Hahn moved to Baltimore where she began playing the violin at age 3. While she completed the Curtis Institute’s university requirements at age 16, she opted to defer graduating for another 3 years, coaching with Jaime Laredo and studying chamber music with Felix Galimir and Gary Graffman. One of the most compelling artists on the international concert circuit, she was named America’s Best Young Classical Musician by Time Magazine in 2001. Renowned for her intellectual and emotional maturity, she regularly appears in recital and with the world’s great orchestras in Europe, Asia and North America. Her first albums for Sony Classical brought her 4 consecutive classical best sellers and major prizes, including 2 Diapason d’Or and the Deutsche Schallplattenpreis. Now an exclusive recording artist for Deutsche Grammophon, her first album on that label won her the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik.

LMMC return engagement.
